The Competition of Advertising is returning digitally for 2020

Rose McGowan speaks at the Festival of Marketing 2019

This year the Festival of Marketing will be expanded from October 5 to 9 from its previous two-day format to five digitally presented days. Over the five days, over 80 sessions will take place, including a mixture of headliners and panel discussions, as well as marketing master classes, mentoring and virtual networking opportunities.

Topics that will be explored over the five days include understanding trends, making them available to customers, changes and strategies, and promoting recovery. In addition, for the first time there will be a day devoted to researching creative effectiveness and hosted by Creative Review.

There will be a mixture of lectures and panel discussions dealing with topics such as the customer-agency relationship, building an effective internal creative team and measuring creative effectiveness. There will also be a panel discussion with a mix of leading creatives and marketers to discuss “house truths” about the industry and the biggest challenges we face today.

Speakers confirmed so far at the Festival of Marketing 2020 include: Mark Ritson, Professor of Marketing and Marketing Week columnist; Paul Pomroy, CEO of McDonald's UK; Claire Hennah, Global Vice President for E-Commerce at Unilever; Ines Ures, Deliveroo's Chief Marketing Officer; and Alex Weller, European Marketing Director, Patagonia.

"The marketing industry is full of innovative, creative, and imaginative people," said Russell Parsons, editor of Marketing Week. “We will bring many of them together in October to discuss, debate and find the best way forward. With the help of the best minds from the world of marketing and beyond, we will provide inspiration, insights, and advice over five days to help you overcome the greatest challenges you face. "

"It's not just another crappy conference," says Mark Ritson. "It's the festival of marketing! And online or offline, you can't miss it."
