Publicity: Bobby Doherty
Art Director Gem Fletcher introduces Bobby Doherty's playful still life photography in the latest issue of the Exposure series, the review of photographers by Creative Review on the upswing
There is so much going on in the work of still life photographer Bobby Doherty. With just the right amount of pop, shine and glitter, his effective photos are designed for consumption. He creates the most vivid, humorous and seductive images he can. He combines the aesthetics of historical advertising with a joyful disrespect and captures the worlds of fashion and food with relentless energy.
Doherty got his first camera at eight and hasn't stopped taking pictures for over 20 years. "I don't think I've ever had a big break from taking pictures. I'm like a child actor in photography. I'm the Kirsten Dunst of still life."
